Olivia Pollerd – Basketball Without Borders Global Camp

Held this week from 14-16 February at the 2020 NBA All-Star Weekend in Chicago, the players are set to be put through their paces on and off the court with their skills and game-play showcased in front of the NBA’s elite.

For Giddey, the recognition of being in the world’s top juniors is an incredible honour and something he’s keen to make the most of later this week.

“To be recognised as a top international player is something pretty special, from a couple years ago not even making a state team to now having these types of opportunities it’s been pretty amazing,” Josh Giddey said.

“And especially to represent my country with the other boys going over is something I’m very proud of.”

Jade Melbourne was thrilled to head over and learn from the world’s best.

“To be invited to this camp is unbelievable and I’m really looking forward to getting to know and play against girls from all over the world,” Jade Melbourne said.

“To share this experience with Polly (Olivia Pollerd) who I’ve shared most of my basketball journey makes it extra special.”

For Olivia Pollerd, going to the NBA All Star Game is a dream in of itself, let alone being part of the week through the BWB Camp.

“Obviously getting the chance to go to one of these camps is such a honour and privilege,” Pollerd said.

“It’s a goal I’ve always had, and now that I have been given the opportunity to go it’s insane.

“I’m super excited to play with people from all around the world, and also to play with my buddy Jade who I have grown up with, not to mention being coached by some amazing people and being able to go to the NBA All Star game is something I only dreamed of.”

The trio recently toasted Australian Junior Championships gold medals at the Australian Institute of Sport with Victoria winning both the Under-20 Men and Under-20 Women’s tournaments.

Joining the Victorian trio will be Queensland’s Tamuri Wigness and Blake Jones, as well as NSW’s Biwali Bayles
